FAQs

Q?

What is a SMART repair?

A.

SMART stands for Small to Medium Area Repair Techniques – it is a cost effective solution to minor bodywork damage, using the latest in repair techniques to keep the repair area as small as possible.

Q?

Do Prime Smart only do SMART repairs?

A.

No – as we have a static work shop, we are able to complete larger repairs such as multiple panel re-sprays.

Q?

Do you need to remove the panel?

A.

No – Prime Smart never remove entire panels to repair damage. All repairs are completed in-situ, reducing labour costs associated with panel removal.

Q?

How long will the repair take?

A.

All repairs are completed same-day, meaning you will not need to be without your vehicle for long.

Q?

Can I drive my car straight after a repair?

A.

Yes – upon re-delivery, your vehicle will be fully cured and ready to drive.

Q?

Is the work guaranteed?

A.

Yes – every Prime Smart repair comes with a lifetime guarantee for as long as you own the vehicle.

Q?

How much is a repair?

A.

There are many factors that affect the price of a repair including the location, size and colour of the vehicle. As all repairs differ greatly, we really need to see the damage first. This is why Prime Smart offer a free, no-obligation quote. Our technicians can assess your vehicle in person or via photo uploads.

Q?

Do you do metallics?

A.

Yes – we use the market leader paint systems and can match any colour manufactured for on the road vehicles, including metallics.

Q?

Are there any repairs you don’t do?

A.

Prime Smart specialise in minor to moderate bodywork damage meaning we don’t have the large overheads of a traditional body shop. As a result, we do not carry out repairs where the vehicle has structural, mechanical or electrical damage, or where welding in of replacement metal or full panels is required.

Q?

Will the repair be “as good as new”?

A.

All repairs to bodywork, across the entire industry, are completed by hand. No repair, by any repairer, will be identical to an automotive factory finish, which is machine-sprayed to tolerances beyond human capability. Hence, no repair will ever be strictly ‘as good as new’. We aim to provide a good quality, hand-completed aftermarket repair. In normal circumstances, such a repair is unlikely to be detected by a casual examination of the vehicle by an untrained observer unaware of the previous damage location. Full details are given in our Terms of Business. Any repairer promising absolute perfection or a completely undetectable repair is either unaware of the science underlying vehicle repairs, or attempting to deceive or mislead their potential customers.

Q?

Do you repair vans/motorbikes?

A.

Yes – as long as we can source the manufacturers colour code, we can repair vans and motorbikes.

Q?

How do you accept payment?

A.

We accept cash, card, cheque or bank transfer. Full payment instructions are detailed on your invoice.
